Our History

The Fukuzawa Yukichi Memorial Keio History Museum was established with the aim of sharing the life of Fukuzawa Yukichi, founder of Keio University and a key figure of modern Japan, and alongside this, Keio University’s own 160 year history.

Our exhibitions are installed on the second floor of the Old University Library, an Important Cultural Property standing at Keio University’s Mita Campus. Through our exhibition materials, we hope to share the histories of Fukuzawa Yukichi and Keio University to each and every visitor.

In addition to the permanent exhibits, the museum incorporates a Temporary Exhibition Room, where we hold special programs several times per year.
